Aidan Pryde

Random bits about synths, electronics & music in general

About

AidanAidan Pryde* is the alter ego of Gabriel, owner of a German web development firm located in Templin at the beautiful Uckermark. While pushing the bits & bytes for his clients he stumbles upon interesting, amusing and sometimes even insightful bits of information on the net which he shares on his blog.

Music has always played a huge role in his life, beginning at the age of 6 where he learned to play the flute (don’t ask…), going on at high school, where he cofounded the high school band called “Gymnasium Templin Rock AG” (Guitar & Keyboard) with his Latin teacher and afterwards as he & the guys put together a rock band called “Beaten” where he used to play the guitar and had several gigs at different occasions. As he was always interested in computers (C64, Amiga, PC) it was only a matter of time until he put both worlds together and started experimenting with this MIDI-, Sampling-, Sequencers-, Synthesizers- & Keyboards-”type of thing”.

With the advent of his daughter in 2003 the personal priorities shifted a little, as you would expect from a loving daddy. But ever since he tries to connect both “fields of interest” for instance through letting his little girl play his completely overhauled Roland Juno-106 Synthesizer (”can we switch on ‘wind’ again, daddy”) or by using the guitar to play along with children’s songs which you won’t want to hear…

Gabriel is also a big fan of David Allens Getting Things Done and is still in search of the ideal time management tools & techniques. So if you have some tips for time-saving software or just want to share some plain offline time management techniques that changed your life towards the right direction, feel free to suggest.
